Many appologies...

Mom has kept me busy these last few weeks.  We have had another fundraiser called Dinner for 6. It entails a private chef and mom and I serving.  I am pretty nervous about it.  At least the winner is someone we know.  I will post the annoucement later.

So just to look back on our fundraising for this trip we have done ALOT!

3 Garage Sales
Sold cards designed by me- we stillhave some if there are any takers.
Dinner for 6

AND... yes, one more.  A friend donated a  ton of patriotic magnets to me. So  we are going to be taking donations at Publix and giving away the magnets June 12 and June 18.  The proceeds will go to Manasota Troop Support (MOTS) and the rest towards my trip. I am so excited that I will be able give money to a group that takes care of our soldiers by sending care packages monthly.  Did you know they spend over $1000 per month in postage??  I'd love to be able to give them one months postage and make a difference.  Mom said, we are remembering 10 years ago how our country changed with 9-11.

Hope to see you out at the Publix (Manatee Ave & 75th St.)  All donations big or small get a patriotic magnet!

Gearing Up!

March 5th will be my FINAL  garage sale.  I really don't like early mornings but I will do what I have too to reach my goal!

If anyone has anything they want to donate we can pick up.  Call my mom, Julie 941-920-3050 to arrange for a time to meet.

Also, I really hope you saw my flier for the Scrapbooking Day and GOLD PARTY!  So even all you non scrappers can participate!  Find all those lonely  gold earrings, broken bracelets and necklaces and bring them in for cash! Where else can you come to a fundraiser and leave with money in your pocket!!

Thanks Tons!

Oh the nerves....

October 23rd mom and I set off to North Port to do my face to face interview. I was so nervous that I couldn't eat breakfast and mom said I couldn't stop talking because of  my nerves! In hand, I had 3 sealed envelopes with references from my teacher, soccer coach and a community member ; I had no clue what they said about me. We got to the school  and were I met Marlo Monzon, my People to People Rep. and guide for the program.  She was so nice.  She took me back and we chatted about the program and I answered questions about being away from home.  I have never been away from home without my  mom or family member.  She asked me if I was scared or nervous about going - no way!  I am ready to be away from home and see the world.

After my interview was over, Mrs. Monzon said I was a great candidate for the program.  No to wait and hear from the program itself.
